1. What were the Achievement Levels for the 2024 Sec 1 Cohort?
G1: 25 - 27
G2: 21 - 24
G3: 11 - 16
2. If my results slip shows Posting Group 3, can I opt for Posting Group 2 instead?
No, you can only opt for the Posting Group offered.
3. What is the intake of G1, G2, G3 classes in total?
It depends on MOE’s allocation.
4. Do I need to come down to the school to register when I receive my S1 posting results?
There is no need to come down to the school for Sec 1 Registration. All will be done online.
5. Is the school easily accessible by public transport?
Yes. We are located conveniently between 2 LRTs, Senja & Jelapang. We have a slew of buses that ply our road outside. From Bukit Panjang Interchange, we can take 920 and 972, and from Choa Chu Kang Interchange, we have 976.
6. What is the O level Passing rate?
98% of our 2023 cohort were eligible for entry into the Polytechnics, and 71.2% qualified for entry to the Junior Colleges.
7. Please explain the process of SBB to select specific subject, minimum grade eligibility and number of times in a year this is offered and assessed.

Reporting time is 7.30am; the last lesson may end between 2.15pm - 4pm.
9. Would there be enough support given to the G2 students to excel academically? What are the chances to be promoted to a higher stream?
Students who need additional support will be identified and provided with help through the Learning Support Programme from Secondary One, after the first Weighted Assessment.
The provision for students to offer all their subjects at a more demanding level, or what is currently known as "lateral transfer", will continue to be available. Schools will guide students on their subject and subject level options based on a holistic consideration of their individual circumstances, strengths and interests in different subjects, overall ability to cope and well-being.
10. Are students issued with personal learning devices?
Yes, West Spring is on the pilot programme for the Personal Learning Devices Programme. All students will be issued with a PLD.
11. How many subjects would a Sec 1 take?
For G3 and G2 students, they must take 11 subjects.
For G1 students, they will take 9 subjects.
12. Where do Tamil language students in WSSS go for lessons?
Currently, students go to Choa Chu Kang Secondary School.
13. Does the school offer triple science or double science for Sec 3?
We offer double Science.
14. If I learn a third language, can I learn in WSSS?
At the moment, WSSS is not a centre for any third languages.
15. Are A Maths and POA offered for G2?
Yes, for the students who meet the subject requirements.
16. During Chinese and Malay curriculum hours, is it a free period for Tamil Language students or would they be able to go to their language centres if it is the last period?
It will be a free period for the students to do self-study.
17. Are the classes in Sec 1 classes streamed based on PSLE AL score or are classes of mixed ability?
As we are already on board with MOE’s Mixed Course Form Class, the form classes will be a mix of students from different courses/abilities.
18. Are there any compulsory humanities subjects that a child must take throughout the 4 years?
For G3 and G2 students, they must take History, Geography and Literature in Lower Secondary. They then choose to take either History with Social Studies or Geography with Social Studies in Upper Secondary.
For G1 students, they will take the Humanities Exposure Modules (HEMs) in Secondary One and Two. For students deemed able, they may offer Geography, History or Literature from Secondary Two.
19. Can the child bring a mobile phone to school?
Yes, but use of mobile devices is restricted by time and place.
20. What are the days and times CCAs are held?
Starting 2025, our CCA days will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For some CCAs (e.g. Performing Arts and Sports) there may be 2 sessions per week, and up to 3 sessions during the competition season.
21. What are my chances in getting into a Sports CCA if I was not in the school team in Primary School?
There will be auditions/trials held, so your performance during that session will matter.
22. How are students selected for CCA?
Option, Talent.
23. How many CCAs can a student take?
We recommend one CCA due to the high demands of the student’s time.
24. What are the core values of the school?

We have 7 canteen stalls.
26. Will students have lockers?
Yes, students have lockers in their classrooms.
27. Are there any vegetarian stalls?
We do not have a full vegetarian stall in the canteen. We have vegetarian options at 2 stalls (yong tau fu & vegetarian sandwiches).
