From a simple brushstroke to the the molding of clay, the Visual Arts Club here at Riverside Secondary School seeks to nurture a simple appreciation of beauty in our students. We hope to create an environment where the artist will not only find their inspiration but thrive in the creation and perfection of their art. We seek to empower individual artists to not only find their medium of expression but their artistic voice.

What We Look Out For In Potential Candidates

• Applicant must be able to demonstrate strong interest and talent in visual art beyond the abilities of students in the same age group;

• School reports - academic ability and conduct indicated in school reports and other specific teacher reports;

• Qualification(s) in visual art– Relevant certificates if any;

• Accomplishment - Evidence in awards or experiences in relevant context (e.g. competitions, school/public showcases); and

• Audition and interview:

  1. On-the-spot object drawing assessment (at primary school)

  2. Demonstration of aptitude and potential

  3. Assessment of attitude and suitability
