Q1: May we understand which class has the confirmed case, we would like to know if our child has been a close contact?
R1: We seek your understanding that we are unable to share such details, to protect all children's privacy. We understand from parents' point of view that you would like to know if your child has been a close contact. Be rest assured our priority is everyone's safety including both students and teachers.
Q2: How is the school keeping the environment safe?
R2: All students are still practicing personal hygiene and performing wipe down in classroom and canteen. Unwell students are sent home and school is also monitoring the number of cases regularly.
Q3: How can I excuse my child/ward for vaccination during school day?
R3: You can provide evidence of your child's vaccination appointment to your child's form teacher to excuse your child from school leave or to school early for the appointment. You child/ ward can also be excused from school for 2 days without MC if he/she becomes unwell and experiences side effect. If your child is unwell beyond 2 days, we would encourage you to bring your child to seek medical attention.
Q4: Should I inform school for my child vaccination?
R4: You should inform your child's form teachers on the vaccination date so that we will excuse your child from any strenuous activities for 2 weeks. Please also remind your child to reframe from strenuous exercise and approach teacher if he/she feels unwell after the vaccination.
Q5: Can my child return to school once his/her ART result is negative even though it is still within the MC period ?
R5: Yes, this will only apply only after 72 hours of self isolation. Your child can return to school provided your child is well. School will still send your child home if he/she displays flu-like symptoms unless there is a medical document which states that the flu-like symptoms is related to sinus. You may refer to the MOH link on discharge information details.
Q6: If my child's MC period is not covid19 related, can my child return to school if he/she is well before MC expires.
R6: If your child is deem medically unfit for the MC period, we strongly encourage that you keep your child at home to rest for the stipulated period for his/her safety. Please provide a medical clearance proof if you intend to send your child to school. There is also concern on insurance claim if your child happens to injury himself/herself during school activity when he/she is suppose to be on MC.
Q7: Can my child return to school when ART result is still positive after 7 days?
R7: Yes, your child may return to school after 7 days if he /she is well regardless of the ART result
