Change Microsoft Excel Trust Center Setting

Guide to access template excel file

The following steps is required if you see the "SECURITY WARNING Macros have been disabled." warning message when you open the budget excel file.

Before you begin

Close any existing excel document before changing the setting.

Make sure that the budget excel file is saved onto your computer, instead of external hard-disk, external thumbdrive or open directly from the O:/ drive.

Change Microsoft Excel Trust Center Setting

Open Microsoft Excel

Create a new "Blank workbook'.

Click on "File" > "Options"

Select "Trust Center" from the left panel
Click on "Trust Center Settings...", followed by "OK".

Select "Trusted Locations" from the left panel
Click on "Add new location..."

Enter "C:\" into the Path field.
Enable "Subfolders of this location are also trusted"
Click "OK"
Repeat the above process by adding "D:\" into the Path field again.

Confirm both "C:\" and "D:\" drives are added to the path of trusted locations.

Select "ActiveX Settings" from the left panel, select "Enable all controls without restrictions and without prompting"

Select "Macro Settings" from the left panel, select "Enable all macros"
Enable "Trust access to the VBA project object model".
Click "OK".

Editing the Budget Template excel file

Reopen the budget excel file.
You should be able to see the "INPUT" sheet and edit your data.
