Felix Isaac Lim Recognized

Avid coder devotes dozens of hours linking seniors to teens, among other projects, then aces his N-Levels.

Felix Isaac Lim was interviewed by Today when he received his GCE N-Level results on 19 December. He is an independent learner who takes charge of his own learning within and outside the classroom. His passion for programming has led him to become a self-taught developer. Felix also wants to inspire and influence others positively by using his programming knowledge to serve the community.

In school, Felix was given the opportunity to share his knowledge on the Python programming language via ‘Genius Hour’, a platform initiated by the school to encourage and support students’ self-directed learning. He built a website that consisted of recorded video lessons and their transcripts, which were integrated with programming exercises. The website could track students’ progress as well.

Academically, Felix also persisted with his drive to achieve excellence. As a result of his good academic performance, he was able to transfer from the Normal (Technical) to the Normal (Academic) course in Secondary 2. He then continued to maintain his excellent performance, taking English Language, Math and Science at a more demanding level under Subject-Based Banding (Secondary).

He exemplifies the school’s vision, “Reflective Learners, Caring Changemakers”, and is an inspiration to his peers. Moving forward, Felix plans to take a Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Analytics or Data Science via the Polytechnic Foundation Programme.
