About the theme
The theme for the 2022 and 2023 writing workshop is ‘The Transience of Time’ to celebrate Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School’s 60 years of moulding young ladies and gentlemen who will contribute to the nation.
Indeed, time is fleeting and nothing is permanent. We have to treasure the present.
May our students’ works capture the nostalgia of bygone years which provides us the impetus to work for the future.
Foreword
Stepping into the seventh year of CONTEMPLATIONS and resuming normalcy, we are excited to resume our sensory experiences with our students to bring more joy for your reading pleasure.
As we commemorate the school's 60th anniversary and reflect on our journey thus far, our students also dug deep to discover their identity, contemplate their past while boldly imagining the future. Drawing inspiration from nature as well as local and global writers' works, our students experimented with haikus and penned short stories to share their innermost thoughts and feelings.
With support from their teacher mentors and peer writers, our students bring you their literary pieces and give you a glimpse of their world. We hope to encourage your heart and your hidden desire to wield the pen and venture with us into the realm of imagination and freedom where writing is never completed, only abandoned.
