I currently teach high school social studies at Health Sciences Charter School in Buffalo, New York.
I first learned about the Modern Classrooms Project from a local social studies professional development coordinator. During the summer of 2021, the Modern Classrooms Project offered a grant for New York State educators to take part in the Virtual Summer Institute. I applied and was accepted. From there, my passion for the model grew. I became a Distinguished Educator in December 2021 and an Expert Mentor in April 2022.
One thing I love about MCP is the quality time with my students and the opportunities for feedback it has given me. Seeing the feedback loop actually work in my classroom has been joyous. I also love the community and opportunities Modern Classrooms Project has given me.
When not at school, you can find me reading, relaxing in a pool, or crocheting while I watch my favorite TV shows.
