I currently teach science at Hahnville High in Boutte, Louisana.
I first learned about the Modern Classrooms Project through Screencastify. While I wasn't selected for the Screencastify Scholarship, I applied for another Virtual Mentorship Scholarship and was selected. I was so impressed with the model that I began to spread my love for it to other teachers. I also wanted to bring myself to the next level by applying to become a Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator. I became a DMCE in 2022.
One thing I love about MCP is its flexibility. If I have to miss a day, the learning does not stop. Students also have a more personalized learning experience. I love how in my science class, I am able to float from station to station seamlessly. In the past, everyone was doing the same thing at the same time. Now I can have a group completing a lab, another working on notes, and another group completing another task. I have now made it my mission to go around this country to conferences spreading the word about how this model revolutionizes the classroom!
When not at school, you can find me traveling around the world. I love to travel and experience other cultures. My goal is to see as much of this world before I am called to depart.
