I currently teach 10th grade biology at Thurgood Marshall Academy PCS.

I first learned about the Modern Classrooms Project when a colleague shared her experience with me about the program's innovation. She noticed a few units I transformed to self-pace and suggested I check out MCP to help me build on these units. I became a Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator and then a mentor in December 2020.

One thing I love about MCP is its flexibility. Student-athletes, students with accommodations and modifications, on grade level, and advanced students all flourish at their own pace with this learning model. Parents also love how tailored the learning plan is for students with different academic needs.

When not at school, you can find me cooking, playing card games, hosting holidays, and attending my son’s sporting events. I love love love being a mother and a wife.
