I currently teach Middle School Music in Spanish at DC International School, in Washington, D.C.
I first learned about the Modern Classrooms Project in the middle of the 2018-2019 school year when an administrator at my school shared the training as a PD opportunity. I took the training in the summer of 2019, back when it was still in person and started implementing in the 2019-2020 school year. Of course, in early 2020, things changed, and I felt adamant that MCP had allowed me to pivot much more easily and smoothly. I reached out to Kareem to see if there were ways I could stay involved. That’s how I became a mentor, and that’s also, incidentally, how the MCP podcast started! I’ve continued to work with MCP ever since.
When not at school, you can find me with my family watching movies, playing video and board games, building Legos, swimming, biking, and singing. My wife Lucia and I love to have weekend adventures with our two kids. I’m also a runner and like long runs on the weekends.
