Our library visits. The kids and our team love to meet on Fridays to teach the kids basic coding!
Our Beetle-Bots group. We had an amazing group of young girls and boys come in to sauter and wire some little beetle robots. Here, the kids were able to get hands-on with sauters with members of our robotics group to keep everyone safe. The children loved it and couldn't wait to come again! Along with learning how to sauter, they learned some basic wiring skills. Such as positive and negative wires, and where they go
Aside from helping the children in our community, we also love helping each other and even neighboring school districts! Our amazing sponsor MidAmerican energy! They came and taught our new freshmen group Greek build their own robot. Greek brainstormed and designed a plan. MidAmerican Energy talked to them about their potential robots’ strengths and weaknesses. They taught the freshmen about the importance of the center of gravity in hang, they talked about strength, and so much more. The freshmen how have a design and prototype that they are confident with. Now that their robot is built they are working on a new milestone, which is auto and tele-op!
The day that we invited BZBots over to scrimmage. BZBots is a team that we know very well and enjoy speaking to. They are very fun and extremely intelligent! We played a couple of games and had some fun. However, afterward, we all spent time observing each other's robots and giving each other tips and tricks on how to improve our robots. Now, we love greeting them at meets and seeing how their robot progresses!
Not only did we reach out to local teams, our lead build reached out all the way to Australia! We had seen their intake design on YouTube and decided to reach out. They were kind enough to lend us some CAD files of their intake for us to use, which we gratefully did. Not only did they offer files, but to keep our team email for future connections! We truly appreciate Blue BotBuilders for graciously gifting us their files, and can't wait to keep in contact later on!
