After a full season with a robot, it begins to feel like more than just a robot, they are part of the team. So all of our teams give there robot's names, and we have decided that ours is John.

Deep Dive presents a fairly unique and surprisingly complex challenge for our robots. We have to reach both upwards and extend forward to properly score in this game. This presented us with many potential designs, many that were much more complex then our usual designs.
The main design we landed on for John consists of three main elements on top of our base. The base is a U shaped frame with four mecanum wheels, these wheels allow our robot to strafe side to side and generally move quicker. Everything on the robot has to fit within an 18 by 18 by 18 inch cube so we started with a frame about 15 by 14 inches.
