Archive of Sold Work
All of the paintings here have either sold through galleries, private commissions or studio sales. I will never get to paint, or even see many of these pieces ever again. Some though, I have painted more than once and I will continue to paint them for the rest of my career. Nonetheless, this is not a complete collection of sold works; that would be exhausting.
These paintings have travelled to more places, and faster, that I will ever manage in my lifetime. Many are in New York and Berlin, Frankfurt and The Hague. There are quite a few in Paris, London, Los Angeles and Washington DC. I know of at least two in Tokyo, one in Buenos Aires and three in Canada, though I can't recall where. If you have a painting of mine and you are willing to send me a photo or two of its new home, I would be delighted!

Strong Colour and Structural Grey
Colour theory is central to painting, even more than materials science or even basic polymers. Colour is something an artis can control...mostly.
I love greys and browns. They're the foundation of composition, and tonality, essentially, is structure. Line is also inescapable, since by losing and finding an edge, we gain perspective and move past the flat surface of the canvas.
All that aside, colour is frequently where I find the most joy. Pure cadmium is as beautiful as it is dangerous, transparent glazes, layered just so, make a flat painting into a hologram. And painting all that has the dopamine-driven addictive quality that makes this work the only thing I can't seem to quit.
