Why Arts Integration Series
Join Us February 3, 2025
Join us February 3, as we continue our exploration of Why Arts Integration? In this session, we will hear from educators in the field who are utilizing best practices of arts across the curriculum in their classrooms. Attendees will learn more about the everyday application of arts integration and the positive impact it has on student learning communities.
The Science cohort at Reed Academy has undergone some staffing changes, so we will continue supporting the new teachers on the team in their journey through Arts Integration with Professional Development opportunities in the winter months. Alongside them, the ELA educators will begin their Arts Integration journey as well.
Shook Elementary School is in the process of planning a 4-session Professional Development with teaching artists Sherry Norfolk, Luke "Skippy" Hauber, and Mark Pagano. These teaching artists will be supporting the 5th-grade cohort as they work to fill their toolbox with a variety of Arts Integration practices.
We are currently working on creating and gathering arts integrated lesson plans on our website. Here is our new Lessons and Activity Plans page. This will be available for teachers to use resources to further work with arts integration throughout the state!
Example lesson plans may include:
Integrating music into Elementary Science
Integrating music into Elementary Math
Do you have a lesson plan that integrates arts and non-arts content?
Submit your lesson plan proposal to be added to our collection by clicking here!
