School Profile

Mid-Maine Technical Center is a regional career and technical center that is located on the campus of Waterville High School. Mid-Maine Technical Center offers the area’s high school students twenty-five career and technical courses, which have been approved for high school graduation credit. Each technical program at Mid-Maine Technical Center has achieved national program certification or is using state licensing standards, which provides our students the opportunity to earn over 42 industry recognized certifications.

Participating high schools include: Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville, and Winslow High Schools, as well as Temple Academy, Snow Pond Arts Academy, and Maine Academy of Natural Sciences. Students from area private schools and home-schooled students who live in a sending school district may also enroll at the Technical Center on a space available basis.

Students attend Mid-Maine Technical Center as part of their school day, while taking academic courses at their high school. Bus transportation to and from Mid-Maine Technical Center is provided by each school district. Enrollment is arranged through high school guidance departments at no cost to the student.

Mid-Maine Technical Center has fourteen lab areas totaling 51,000 square feet of instructional space, which is fully equipped with over one million dollars of high tech equipment that meets industry standards.

The staff at Mid-Maine Technical Center establishes high expectations and assists students to meet these standards in structured, challenging, and supportive educational settings. National and state licensing skill standards provide the framework for Mid-Maine Technical Center's curriculum. Our programs provide students with the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications and college credits.

Mid-Maine Technical Center's primary goal is to provide quality programs designed to educate and prepare students for careers and lifelong learning. Our programs integrate related academic and career and technical education to aid in the development of problem solving, technical, and professional skills necessary for students to become productive and contributing members of society.

Mid-Maine Technical Center provides a safe and respectful learning environment and shares responsibility with students to develop positive relationships throughout the school. Students are expected to participate in their education by developing career and educational plans based on their own interests and abilities. Mid-Maine Technical Center believes that student success is enhanced with the involvement of parents, guardians, and other supportive adults.
