Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

I love teaching first grade.  This will be my 19th year teaching at MMR and I can't believe it! Time sure does fly by when you enjoy  what you do!  I feel blessed to be spending my days in such a rewarding vocation.

I believe every child has God-given talents that should be nurtured in a warm, loving, educational environment.  I look forward to acting as a facilitator in each of my student's journey to discover their best method of learning.  I believe in meeting a child where they are academically, socially, and spiritually and then helping them grow, reach their own potential, and strive to learn more than they ever thought possible.  First Grade is a year full of learning, discovery, growth, and happiness!  First grade is fabulous!

  Transportation Tags 

24 box Crayola crayons

8 box  wide Crayola markers

12  #2 pencils (sharpened)

3 large glue sticks

4oz. bottle of school glue

1 pair student scissors

8" x 5" plastic art box

Child sized headphones (in ziplock bag, labeled w/name)

smock or old shirt for art

1 box of tissues

2 large container cleaning wipes

Our Summer Reading book is All Are Welcome Here by Alexandra Penfold. I hope that every child will read this book with a grown up before our first day of school, but no worries if you don't have it.  I have a copy and we will  re-read it together, and do an activity related to the book on  the first day of school. Thank you!
