Are you caring, detail oriented and adaptable? Do you like to help people of all ages? Students will learn about the body systems, illnesses and conditions, professionalism and teamwork, and basic nursing skills. Once students meet the criteria, they are able to apply their knowledge and skills while caring for real patients/residents at clinical rotations in our local facilities. Multiple industry certifications are available, including: Healthcare Provider CPR and AED, First Aid, HIPPA, Food Handlers, Bloodborne Pathogen, Infection Control, and Legal & Ethical Issues Certification. Successful completion of all requirements, including clinical rotations, allows eligibility for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) State Licensing Examinations. Students can earn Tech Prep credits through BBCC including first aid/CPR certification.
In partnership with Samaritan Healthcare, you earn a total of three high school credits for this year long course--Up to 3 occupational or elective credits in combination with the following: 1 tech science credit, 0.5 health credit, 1 English credit.
