This is my second year at Marshfield HS and my 37th year of teaching! I am so glad to be here and excited to be your Vocal teacher! I graduated from MU in 1988 with my Bachelors of Science in K-12 Music Education. I went back to MU to earn my Masters in Education with a K-12 Emphasis and graduated in 1998. I spent the first 17 years teaching K-12 Band and Choir, spent 14 years in K-12 vocal and then 4 years as a 6-12 teacher at Macon, MO. I have been married to my husband, Mike, for 33 years in December and we have 2 grown daughters: Hannah and Rachel. We spent all of our marriage within an hour of Macon and Columbia until we moved to Marshfield last summer.
Mike was a mechanic when we met and spent 30+ years in the automotive industry and retired as the Manager of Fleet Operations for the City of Columbia in Feb. of 2025. He currently works remotely from home as a data processor for LKQ.
Hannah is a K-5 music teacher and married to Corey who is a Captain and Commander in the Army stationed at Ft Irwin, CA. They have Peyton, who will be 2 in October and a baby boy due in January. Corey also has a daughter, Raleigh, who is 8 and lives in Arkansas.
Rachel is a Registered Nurse. She works in Labor and Delivery and lives in Columbia, MO. She currently is a travel nurse and will begin school at MU to become a Nurse Practitioner.
We love to camp and own an RV and try to camp on a weekend once a month. We are big Cardinals fans (Springfield and St. Louis). We used to go to lots of games in St. Louis throughout the season but with Springfield so close we go to more games there. because we can go during the week and save weekends for camping. We have season tickets to MU football going on 29 years and go to most games as well as other sports on campus, especially if I am singing the National Anthem for the event. We love the Chiefs and we have season passes to Silver Dollar City and go there often for shows and to people watch.
I look forward to working with your student to reach their goals as Vocal students at MHS!
GO BLUEJAYS!!!
