Aging has physical, cultural and emotional contexts. This MIWC Activity is taking time to look at the medical, legal, and financial aspects of aging specific to Germany as well as the universally human aspects of this part of our lives. You may have loved ones back home entering this phase or you yourself may be starting to think about how to plan now for your own life path. We hope you find this helpful.
We recommend starting with the ASZ Old-Age and Service Centres in Munich. They will examine your specific situation and help you find a path toward services. Click here for the English brochure.
We also recommend the presention by Sabine Bowers : Aging at Home or in a Care Facility for identifying financial resources..
Club member Sabine Bowers is willing to advise informally based on her research and experience. You can find her contact in the MIWC member directory.
We meet once a month and are developing material for member use as we research. Please let Anitra Kitts know if you’d like to be a part of this project. Our plans for Fall 2024/Winter & Spring 2025 are forming. We generally meet at 10 am on the third Thursday of the month except when we don't or go on field trips. It is always best to consult the MIWC Club calandar. This year we hope to focus on Nutritional and physical wellness, Financile planning and management in retirement, How to release the stuff that we know the kids don't want either, Grief and joys of friendships, How we die and the choices we have - both physical and emotional.
