ಪರಿಚಯ ಮತ್ತು ಇತಿಹಾಸ

ಕುಡ್ಲು ತೀರ್ಥ ಜಲಪಾತವು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಘಟ್ಟಗಳ ಗಂಭೀರ ಕಾಡಿನೊಳಗಿನ ಒಂದು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಜಲಪಾತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು “ಸೀತಾ ಫಾಲ್ಸ್” ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇದು ಸೀತಾ ನದಿಯ ಮೊದಲ ಜಲಪಾತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 126 ಅಡಿಗಳ ಎತ್ತರದಿಂದ ನೀರು ಬಿದ್ದು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಜಲಕುಂಡವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಇದೊಂದು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ, ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಋಷಿಗಳು ಧ್ಯಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ತಪಸ್ಸಿಗಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. “ತೀರ್ಥ” ಎಂದರೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಜಲ ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ನೀರನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಣ ಶಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳದು ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ನಂಬುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಇದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಜಲಪಾತವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಲ್ಲದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣಗಳು:
