11/8/2024 - Congratulations to Chamber Choir senior member Kate Gradeless for being selected as the South Bend Tribune's Student of the Week!  Nominated students from high schools in the area received votes from readers of the Tribune.  Click HERE for a link to the article.





10/10/24 - The MHS Choirs performed their Fall Concert, with the show choir performing Halloween season selections and each of the three concert choirs performing an arrangement of an American folk tune and a folk tune from somewhere else in the world.  It was a great variety of music well performed!

10/1/2024 - Congratulations to senior Isabelle Davidson for being selected through auditions for the 250-voice 2024-2025 Indiana Choral Directors Association All-State Honors Choir, which will perform at the Indiana Music Educators Conference in Fort Wayne in January after having several rehearsals in the area.  Way to go, Izzy! 

09/28/2024 - This year's Chamber Choir singing the National Anthem before last night's Homecoming football game.  Well done, singers!

9/27/24 - Congratulations to senior Chamber Choir member Grey Van de Voorde and senior Treble Choir member Bailey Bates for being voted by their peers to be members of the 2024 MHS Homecoming Court.

6/10/2024 - Thanks to the MHS choir graduates for all of their work and contributions to the choir program.  Pictured are the 2024 graduates and Chamber Choir members performing at the 2024 Commencement Exercises on Sunday, June 9.

4/26/2024 - Congratulations to Chamber Choir member Dylan Steadman, who was named the recipient of the Music Department Award for 2023-2024.  He is also a member of the Chamber Choir, Wind Ensemble, and was in the Show Choir and this year's musical.

4/20/2024 - Congratulations to the Treble Choir members on their Gold rating performance today at the Indiana State School Music Association's Organizational Festival!  They received Gold ratings in concert performance and also in sight reading!  Well done!

04/19/2024 - Many congratulations to the members of the Concert Choir (Group III) and the Chamber Choir (Group II) on their Gold rating performances last night at the Indiana State School Music Association's Organizational Festival!  Both groups received Gold ratings from all four adjudicators, including in sight reading.  Your hard work paid off!

03/27/2024 - Congratulations to the recipients of choir awards, announced last night at the Spring Choral Concert.  Receiving the John Long Award (outstanding choir senior) was Cadence Radabaugh.  Receiving the vocal music leadership awards were Abigale Schalliol (Concert Choir), Cohen Foor (Concert Choir), JaQuan Redmond (Chamber Choir), Mariah Howard (Chamber Choir), Atbi-Mar Padilla (Treble Choir), and Parker Sikorski (Treble Choir).

2/26/2024 - Congratulations to all of the MHS students who were involved in the production of last weekend's school musical, Pippin!  It was a great show!  Here are a few rehearsal photos.

2/23/2024 - Cadence Radabaugh, senior Chamber Choir and Treble Choir member, has been voted/named South Bend Tribune Student of the Week!  From the South Bend Tribune article - Cadence is a senior at Mishawaka High School and has been involved in choir and theater for the past four years. This year, she represented Mishawaka as a member of the Indiana All State Honors Choir. She was the first student in the history of the MHS choir program to be selected as a member of the 257-member statewide choir. Cadence has also excelled academically and is an active member of the Patchwork Dance Company from Debbie Werbrouck School of Dance and Music. 

2/20/2024 - Congratulations to the MHS choir students who braved the roads and performed at the Indiana State School Music Association State Solo/Ensemble Festival on Saturday, February 17 at Perry Meridian High School, Indianapolis! All received Gold ratings! Performing were soloists Cadence Radabaugh, Gabby Peters, Jade Williams, Maxwell Raymond, JaQuan Redmond, Ava Stopczynski (received a perfect score!), Kio Rush, Eddie Sheehan, Isabella Davidson, Mariah Howard, Parker Sikorski, and Selah Ortiz.  Also performing were the Chamber Choir Tenor/Bass Ensemble, the Chamber Choir Treble Clef Ensemble, a quartet of Cadence Radabaugh, Cienna King, Dylan Steadman, and Max Ford, and a quartet of Cadence Radabaugh, Mariah Howard, Grey Van de Voorde, and Dylan Steadman (received a perfect score!)Well done, everyone!

2/13/2024  - Next year's choir auditions are coming up on March 21, 22, and 24!  All students who are currently in a choir will audition during class on these days.  Anyone not currently in a choir is welcome to audition and should email Mrs. Sutch (sutchr@mishawaka.k12.in.us) to set up an audition.  Those auditioning for Show Choir will do an additional dance audition on March 27 during Advisory.  The choir options are:

2/3/2024 - Congratulations to the many MHS choir students who performed at the Indiana State School Music Association District Solo/Ensemble Festival today at Penn High School!  All made MHS proud.

Receiving Gold ratings in Group I and moving on to the State Solo/Ensemble Festival on February 17 will be soloists Cadence Radabaugh, Gabby Peters, Jade Williams, Maxwell Raymond, JaQuan Redmond, Ava Stopczynski, Kio Rush, Eddie Sheehan, Isabella Davidson, Mariah Howard, Parker Sikorski, and Selah Ortiz.  Also moving on to State Solo/Ensemble Festival will be the Chamber Choir Tenor/Bass Ensemble, the Chamber Choir Treble Clef Ensemble, a quartet of Cadence Radabaugh, Cienna King, Dylan Steadman, and Max Ford, and a quartet of Cadence Radabaugh, Mariah Howard, Grey Van de Voorde, and Dylan Steadman.  Receiving Silver ratings in Group I were soloists Isabella Butler and Trey Newcomer.

Receiving a Gold rating in Group II was soloist Korrina Taylor, and receiving Gold ratings in Group III were soloists Laura-Jean Edds, Jacob Stephens, and Abi Schalliol, as well as a treble clef quartet.  Receiving a Silver rating in Group III was soloist Peter Solley-Mead.

12/6/2023 - Chamber Choir sang today at the annual Mishawaka Alumni Association holiday luncheon at the Chicory Cafe.

11/8/2023 - Many thanks to the Mishawaka Education Foundation for its generous donation of a new Charles R. Walter grand piano for the choir rehearsal room, shown below!  Check out the installation video HERE !  The old piano, a 1979 Baldwin, is shown at bottom right.

9/12/2023 - Congratulations to MHS senior Cadence Radabaugh, who was selected as a member of the 250-voice Indiana Choral Directors Association All-State Honor Choir!  She auditioned at Penn High School through performance of a selected piece and then sight-reading exercises.  She will rehearse with Michiana area students this fall and then perform with the choir and its guest conductor at the Indiana Music Education Association conference in Fort Wayne in January, 2024.  She is the first student from Mishawaka High School to be selected in many years!

5/11/2023 - Thanks to everyone who helped the MHS Music Department in its mattress sale fundraiser!  The department received nearly $8000 in profits, which will be used to help to bring in future clinicians and provide enrichment opportunities for music students and ensembles!  Shown at right are Band Director Mr. Chamberlin and Choir Director Mrs. Sutch.  Mrs. Farran was busy teaching orchestra at JYMS when the check was presented.

5/5/2023 - Max Ford, Tia Stopczynski, Gabby Peters, and Dylan Piazzoni sang with the Jazz Band tonight in their concert in downtown Mishawaka. Great job representing MHS and the choirs!

4/21/2023 - A big congratulations to all of the choir members on their performances at the Indiana State School Music Association Organizational Festival on April 20 at Concord High School!  Receiving Gold ratings were the Chamber Choir (Group II) and the Treble Choir (Group II), with the Concert Choir receiving a Silver rating.  All three choirs received Gold ratings in sight reading!  Well done, singers!

3/26/2023 - Congratulations to the cast, pit musicians, crew, and production team of the MHS production of "Once Upon a Mattress."  A few photos (courtesy of show director Ms. Sarah Beason) are shown here.  Lots of fun and hard work!

2/18/2023 - Congratulations again to our ISSMA state solo/ensemble festival performers!  Four vocal soloists (Dylan Piazzoni, Kloey Kinnear, Tia Stopczynski, and Cadence Radabaugh) and one ensemble (a Chamber Choir large treble ensemble) performed, and ALL received Gold ratings!  Way to go, everyone!

1/30/2023 - Congratulations to Chamber Choir member Katherine Hill, who placed third in the state for column writing from the Indiana High School Press Association for Division 2 schools.  This is an enormous honor and testament to her talent and coachability.

1/30/2023 - A great job was done by all of the MHS students who performed Saturday at the ISSMA district vocal solo/ensemble festival!  Six vocal soloists (Danielle Horvath, Kloey Kinnear, Selah Ortiz, Tia Stopczynski, Dylan Piazzoni, Cadence Radabaugh) and one ensemble (a Chamber Choir large treble ensemble) qualified for the state level in Indianapolis on February 18.   

Also receiving Gold ratings were soloists Maxwell Raymond, Jade Williams, River Butler, Abigail Spencer, Trey Newcomer, Katherine Hill, Isabella Davidson, and Parker Sikorski, as well as a Concert Choir small treble ensemble.  Receiving Silver ratings were soloists Sierra Bates, Salem Marcin, Mariah Howard, Ella Addison, and Ashlyn Yandl, as well as a mixed ensemble and a tenor/bass ensemble. Receiving a Bronze rating was soloist Peter Solley-Mead.

Great job, everyone!  You make Mishawaka High School proud!

Congratulations to all of the students and adults who were involved with the 2022 Vespers Concert! This year, the program was diversified musically and brought back the tradition of the live portrayal of paintings associated with specific musical compositions.  A big thank you goes to everyone who helped.

New Choir Robes!!

Many thanks to the Mishawaka Education Foundation for their assistance in funding the new choir robes!   The robes, which just arrived, (pictured at left) will be debuted at the December concerts.
