WHAT IS IT?

YouTube is a video sharing site where you can watch, like, share or comment on videos as well as upload your own. Teachers can easily create tutorial videos or find tutorial videos made by other creators and share these resources with their students. Many teachers are already using YouTube to flip their classrooms and have students learn new content at home and use class time to work on projects.

Can students view YouTube?

Students can view videos that are deemed educational  by YouTube.  This means you may have to test the videos with students to make sure they are viewable.  You may also use another video platform like Discovery Education or Learn360, or create your own videos using a screen-recording platform such as Screencastify or Loom.

How can I Embed a Blocked YouTube Video In Canvas?  

How many times have you asked students to watch a YouTube video for class only to discover that it's blocked for them?!? Well, stress no more! With the check of a box, you can ensure students can view any YouTube content embedded in your Canvas course.. on a

content page, in an assignment or quiz, anywhere there's the Rich Content Editor. This trick will certainly save you a lot of time and headaches! Here's how:

• Open video on YouTube

• Click Share and then choose Embed

• Scroll down and check "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" under

Embed Options (this will change the embed code)

• Click Copy

• Return to Canvas and edit Page, Assignment, Quiz, etc.

• In RCE, click the cloud Icon (might be under :More ) and paste code

• Click Save or Save & Publish
