Speech therapy in Mansfield ISD supports students who have communication challenges that may affect their learning or social interactions. Our school-based speech-language pathologists (SLPs) focus on helping students build the communication skills they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
Services are provided based on educational need, meaning a student must show that their communication difficulties are impacting their academic performance. Therapy is typically delivered through individual or small group sessions during the school day.
SLPs work closely with families, teachers, and other school staff to ensure therapy supports the student’s learning goals. Progress is regularly monitored, and strategies are adjusted to help each student grow and succeed.
SLPs assess and treat a variety of communication disorders, including:
Speech sound production (articulation)
Language development (understanding and expressing ideas)
Voice and fluency (e.g., stuttering)
Social communication (interacting appropriately with others)
