Music therapy uses music-based activities—like singing, playing instruments, or creating songs—to support a student’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development. These services are provided by a board-certified music therapist and are designed to help students work toward goals outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Direct Services
Reinforcement and support of academic concepts and goals through musical activities
Encouraging positive behavior through musical reinforcement
Encouraging expressive communication through singing and vocal play
Support social interaction and peer engagement within structured music-making experiences
Supporting fine and gross motor development through instrument play, movement, and action songs
Increasing attention and focus through structured musical routines and predictable patterns
Practicing regulation strategies using musical cues and strategies
Actively collaborating/cotreating with staff during sessions to promote generalization across settings.
Consultation Services
Consultation with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Integration of music therapy strategies into classroom routines
Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings
