TCC SE Mansfield Early College High School
Week of April 29th- May 3rd
Dear ECHS Families,
STAAR testing is here. On April 30th, freshmen enrolled in Algebra I will take the Algebra STAAR test. Students will find their testing locations in the ECHS hallway. If students do not have a school issued device that is working, please come see Dr. Leverette.
ECHS students are performing so well on the TSIA exams. Currently 91% of the 9th graders have passed the TSIA ELAR. 97% of the sophomores have passed the TSIA ELAR and 87% of the sophomores have passed the TSIA Math. All 11th and 12th graders have passed the TSIA ELAR. In Math, 100 % of the seniors have passed the TSIA Math and 98% of the juniors have passed the TSIA Math. Way to go ECHS scholars we are becoming College Ready.
Mrs. Howell has exciting news! Students can use the virtual counseling module in Canvas. Click on the module, and then click on the calendar icon to see her new updated April 2024 calendar. The calendar will be updated monthly.
There will be many senior events the next couple of weeks to celebrate their accomplishments. Grade checks for seniors and juniors will occur the week of April 29th. Seniors can pick up their tickets for the MISD graduation on Friday, May 10th. Seniors will need to return laptops and all textbooks at that time. May 20th is the AVID Senior Recognition at the Performing Arts Center. May 21st is the Senior Recognition Luncheon from 11:00pm-12:30pm. The cost will be $11.00. Awards and senior time capsules will be given out to seniors. The Senior Sunset will be on May 21st from 6:30pm- 8:30 pm in Chandler Park. Bring your favorite snacks and sports gear.
TCC exams are starting for seniors and juniors on the TCC Campus. TCC graduation for seniors is on May 16th. AVID Senior Recognition is on Monday, May 20th at the Dr. Jim Vaskauskas Center for Fine Arts. Seniors will need to arrive by 9:30 pm. May 23rd is the MISD High School graduation at 8 pm. Scholars will need to arrive by 6:30pm. Transcripts will be ready in June. Please read Skyward email for more details.
AVID Field Day is on May 17th.
Seniors... it is time to apply for FAFSA. What is FAFSA? FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. All seniors must complete the FAFSA application. Please speak to Mrs. Howell for more details.
Scholarship information... ECHS seniors have earned 8, 281,000 in scholarships. Go Class of 2024!
Our seniors are doing so well and are preparing for two graduations. Seniors...please pick up your TCC cap and gown from the TCC Bookstore. The deadline to pick-up your cap and gown is May 10th. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Howell.
Seniors...please order your high school graduation cap and gown from Jostens as soon as possible. Please call Jostens at 817-461-6837.
TCC Graduation will be on May 16th at Dickies Arena. Graduation will be at 6:00pm. Please check the TCC website for more information about parking. ECHS students will sit together in the front of the graduation seating area and they will be the first to process into Dickies arena and the first to cross the stage. Parents, please remember to check Canvas for your child's grades. You may also ask your child to open their TCC Canvas account. You can see your child's grade in their TCC class and upcoming assignments. Students must maintain a 2.0 g.p.a. in their college classes in order to stay in the ECHS Program. If you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to talk to your child's counselor Celeste Howell.
Supports are an important part of the Early College High School process. Please remember your child can come to tutoring. Please view the tutoring schedule below.
Extracurricular activities are an important aspect of high school. Every Thursday ECHS students are able to participate in clubs during the school days. Club time is every Thursday from 7:30 am to 8:00 am. Students are able to participate in the Timberview High School clubs after school.

REQUIREMENTS FOR Spring 2024- TCC REGISTRATION
9th Grade
9th Grade scholars must pass TSI ELAR by April 15th to enroll into TCC History & TCC Sociology their 10th grade year. Scholars who are not TSI ELAR met by the due date will enroll into our high school US History course. Scholars will be granted one more year with ECHS to pass TSI ELAR.
9th Grade scholars must maintain a TCC GPA of 2.0 or above to stay in our collegiate program.
10th Grade
10th Grade scholars must pass TSI ELAR by April 15th. Students can test at ECHS or can schedule testing at TCC SE.
10th Grade scholars must prepare for submission of Immunization Record which must reflect Meningitis(MCV4) shot in order to take classes on TCC SE campus for summer or fall.
10th Grade scholars must maintain a TCC GPA of 2.0 or above to stay in our collegiate program.
11th Grade
11th Grade scholars must pass TSI Math in order to enroll into a TCC Math class which is what we use for our 4th Math high school credit. An associate degree cannot be earned without taking a TCC Math class.
11th Grade scholars must pass ENGL 1301/1302 their 11th grade year so that they may take ENGL Literature which is a HS and College credit requirement within our campus.
11th Grade scholars must maintain a TCC GPA of 2.0 or above to stay in our collegiate program.
12th Grade
12th Grade scholars must maintain a TCC GPA of 2.0 or above to stay in our collegiate program.
