House Winner: Pajama Day 2-14
This week we are learning:
Phonics/Spelling: Long a words (ay, ai)
Spelling words: bay, ray, say, ray, stay, tail, sail, nail, bail, fail, rail, rain, brain, train
Sight Words: until, thank, think, must
Reading: We will ask open ended questions and develop a plan for them. We will generate a list of topics and formulate open ended questions about a topic. We will decide what sources of information might be relevant. We will gather evidence from available sources and use text features to locate information. We will clarify research questions and collect information. We will organize and present information.
Writing: We will gather evidence for research using text features and record basic information in simple visual formats. We will publish and share writing with others.
Social Studies: We will identify contributions of historical figures.
Math: We will use objects to solve word problems involving separating sets within 20 and unknowns. We will use pictorial models to solve word problems. We will use part-part whole models to help understand if a situation is addition or subtraction. We will determine the whole number in an addition equation with unknowns.
Science: We will identify and describe a variety of natural sources of water including streams, lakes, and oceans.
Homework: Be sure to read with your child, review sight words, and practice spelling words each night. No spelling Test this week!
Reminders: Every student needs to bring a water bottle each day and a healthy snack. Too much class time is being wasted with students leaving the classroom to go to the water fountain. Thank you for your help! :)

Innovation week is March 1-7!!! We are needing donations please if you have any of the following supplies at home. Please begin sending in items now and have your child take them to Ms. Miller's class. Thank you!! :)

-February 21st – All Pro Dad’s Program in the ESE Cafeteria from 7:00 – 8:00pm
-February 22nd – Daddy/Daughter Dance in the ESE Gym & Cafeteria 6:30-8:00pm, cost is $20 per couple at the door.
