In 2017-18 school year the THSBA had six divisions with a total of 30 qualifying tournaments, three regional events, and one state championship to be held May 18-20 at Sam Rayburn Reservoir.

There were 188 schools participating with over 2500 members. At each regional event, $33,000 in scholarships was awarded to the top 40% finishers in each division. At the state championship an additional $100,000 will be awarded to the top 40% from each of those events.

This season Mineola had six teams competing: River Simonek & Tristan Rychlik (Captain Tim Tyndell), Bailey Mischnick & Connor Dobbs (Captain Andy Cook), Caleb Teeters & Tanner Block (Captain Tony Kelsey), Lowell Birdsong (Captain R.L. Lewis), Kaleb Brown & Ty Trull (Captain Steven Trull), Jake Lee & Jake Haggerton (Captain Chuck Hortman).
