Keira Crane and Aliena Osterbuhr continued their dominating seasons as both picked up individual titles at the Malcolm Invitational Friday. Both cruised through their respective weight classes winning every match by fall, though Osterbuhr's final match needed the third period before she finally bested returning state medalist Becher from Lincoln High. Keira improved her record to 22-3 on the season and moved herself to fifth place in career nearfalls as a freshman. Aliena improved to 18-1 as she continues to work towards earning her fourth state qualification.
Emma Goodrich and Isabel Serrano were the other medalists for Minden, as both earned third place medals after going 5-1 on the day. Emma racked up 18 points and Isabel 20, and were critical to helping Minden earn the team title over #3 Conestoga and #7 Wood River. But it wasn't just the four medalists, as all 13 wrestlers earned team points on the day.
Minden has a big week next week, starting with a triangular on Tuesday against McCook and A#2 Lexington. On Thursday the varsity will travel to the Ord Invitational in one of the last major tournaments against their Class B competition.
