In a tournament featuring 4 of the top 8 class A squads, the lady whippets medaled nine wrestlers and a 7th place finish in Lexington on Friday. Aliena Osterbuhr claimed another tournament title, pinning A#9 and B#4 on her way. Xitlali Nunez also had a great day, defeating A#6 before falling to A#3 in the finals. Xitlali reached her 50th career takedown during the tournament. Other medalists include Keira Crane (3rd, including two ranked wins), Aubree Bules (4th, including a win over A#8), Myia Hofaker (5th), Victoria Hansen (6th), Cristal Gonzalez (6th), Isabel Serrano (6th), and Cheyenne Vahl (6th).Â
The postseason begins now for the varsity squad, as they will travel to West Point for the NSWCA Girls State Duals Tournament on Thursday as the #1 seed, set to face the Summerland Bobcats. It promises to be an exciting day of wrestling featuring the biggest and best teams in the state!
