In the final home competition of the year, the lady whippets took on #6 Wood River looking to carry the momentum built from a strong start to the season and justify their new #1 ranking for dual teams in class B. Both teams went on major winning streaks during the dual, but in the end the lady whippets prevailed 51-27. The whippets were able to flex their team depth in picking up five forfeits, and got three more pins from Myka Petersen, Autumn Johnson (who bumped up to 170 pounds and stepped up in a major way tonight), and Myia Hofaker.Â
After a day to regroup, the varsity squad will travel to the 20-team Crete Invite on Saturday looking to continue their strong run back east.
