Three whippets medal at Columbus

In their first tournament back after Christmas break, the Lady Whippets traveled to Columbus for the Norm Manstedt Invite. This tournament featured 45 teams (including #1 and 2, and 9 of the top 15) and 87 ranked wrestlers. Several whippets utilized the 2 pound growth allowance to drop down to the weight class where they feel the strongest and were able to put together great showings for the tournament. 

The whippets were led by Aliena Osterbuhr and Myia Hofaker, who each earned 3rd place medals, as well as Cheyenne Vahl, who earned a 6th place medal. Several other wrestlers did well and earned wins, but ultimately fell just short of a medal. It was encouraging to see how well the girls wrestled against high level competition fresh off of the Christmas break, and should provide encouragement and momentum heading into the last month and a half of the season.
