Steps for Securing a Business Permit
Step 1: Prepare your Documentation
You'll need to compile and submit the following:
Proof of business registration: DTI certificate (sole proprietorship), SEC COI (corporation), or CDA certificate (cooperative)
Basis for computing taxes and fees (e.g., declared capitalization)
Occupancy Permit (if you constructed or renovated a building), issued by the City's Office of Building Official
Contract of Lease (if renting) or Ownership proof (if owned)
Barangay Clearance from your barangay
Step 2: File your Application
Submit the Unified Application Form along with all required documents to the Davao City Business Bureau.
Services are available both in-person at the ground floor of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Building, or online via the City’s Online Business Permitting Licensing System (appbts.davaocity.gov.ph)
Step 3: Pay the Required Fees
Typical fees include:
Barangay Clearance: Php 500 - Php 1,000
Business Plate/Sticker: Php 300 - Php 500
Sanitary Permit (if applicable): Php 300 - Php 1,000
Fire Safety Inspection Fee (FSIC): Php 500 - Php 3,000
Mayor’s Permit Fee: Based on business type, capitalization, and declared gross sales - progressive scale
Step 4: Receive your Business Permit
After assessment and payment, you’ll be issued the Mayor’s Permit / Business Permit, typically on the same day or via scheduled claim depending on your LGU’s process flow (in-person or online). Expected processing timeframe: a few days.
