DOM – Dance or Meditate
Aesthetic Resistance to Gravity
“When people dance, they don’t think about killing their neighbors.”
Jews versus Arab, Indian versus Pakistani, Serb versus Bosnian, and so on – Hatred, violence, has been our lot for centuries. Unfortunately, more than ever, we are divided by nationalism and religious ideology.
Words have failed us. Wars have failed everybody. Politicians and religious leaders have failed to create a bond that unites us.
We need not words. We need an activity. We need a communal activity that will help us to create a resonance among people of different nationalities .
Dance is the solution. Science says that If the world would dance to the same music, at the same time, for one minute, global resonance will be created in that minute. That is the goal.
To create a resonance that goes viral, we need to start small. I propose that we organize, first, local “dance platforms”all around the world , where people of different nationalities or religions dance next to each other. Imagine Jews and Arabs are dancing every week together thus creating a peaceful community .
The name of our project is: “When people dance, they don’t think about killing their neighbors”.
Jazzo DOM (Dance or Meditate) is a cultural and humanitarian initiative designed to foster global peace through aesthetic movement, music, and meditation.
Founded by Jacob Yasha Michelson and supported by the Jazzo Dance Nonprofit Organization, this project unites people of all backgrounds, religions, and nations in the name of resonance and coexistence.
While one essential element of the mission is to help erase antisemitism through positive cultural bonding, Jazzo DOM’s larger purpose is to help people around the world experience unity beyond ideology or identity.
Words divide. Movements connect. Music and stillness transcend belief and language. When people move or breathe together in rhythm, they create resonance—a shared emotional field that bonds strangers like family.
This is the medicine our divided world needs.
We are building a landmark cultural space on 80 acres near Route 66 in California.
The site will include:
DOM Pavilion – an indoor hall for dancing and meditating (300-person capacity)
Outdoor resonance stage – open to 1,000+ people
Studios, art installations, and communal areas for education and cultural exchange
Eco-conscious architecture to reflect harmony with nature
This will serve as the center of a worldwide network of movement-based peace gatherings.
Our first activation invites communities to dance together to Jewish Klezmer and other world music traditions.
This event symbolizes how cultural expression can erase unconscious bias—including antisemitism—and build emotional bridges through joyful participation.
From Arabs and Jews to Armenians and Turks, people will meet not to argue, but to move.
Art as dialogue
Music as connection
Meditation as healing
Dance as diplomacy
Resonance as transformation
Jazzo DOM teaches that to rise above the weight of fear, anger, and disconnection, we must move—not violently, but aesthetically. We resist gravity not with force, but with rhythm, flow, and grace.
Movement is our message. Resonance is our revolution.
Jazzo DOM is not for one religion, one region, or one people. It is for everyone.
We are currently building, designing, and inviting. The movement has begun.
Dance or Meditate. Create Resonance. Unite Humanity.
Jazzo DOM – When we move together, we remember we belong together.
