Job Summary: Building Service Helper I
The purpose of this position is to keep all buildings of the Milwaukee Public Schools and the surrounding areas clean and neat at all times. Part-time positions available with the opportunity to move into a full-time position. Hours are flexible based on students' academic schedule. Additional hours are available in the evening as directed by the school engineer.
Starting Pay Rate: $15.00/Hour
Other Information
Sweeps, mops and applies floor finish to stairs, corridors and floors of all rooms.
Vacuums and cleans rugs and carpets.
Dusts and washes chalkboards, walls, woodwork, lockers, desks and other furniture, fixtures and surfaces.
Cleans glass in cabinets, windows, doors and mirrors.
Cleans toilet and lavatory facilities and refilling toilet paper, paper and cloth towels and soap dispensers.
Checks and locks windows and doors.
Collects wastepaper and empties waste and recycling containers throughout the assigned building.
Moves and transfers furniture and other heavy objects.
Cleans and maintains equipment and tools of the job.
Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
Performs other duties as assigned.
