In this course, students will deepen and extend their understanding of algebraic, geometric, and statistical concepts addressed in Course 1. Emphasis will be placed in five critical areas: (1) rational exponents; (2) quadratic functions, including a comparison to linear and exponential functions; (3) equations and inequalities involving linear, exponential, and quadratic expressions; (4) probability; and (5) establishing criteria for similarity of triangles based on dilations and proportional reasoning. For the honors level, additional topics will include the study of inverse functions and square and cube root functions if time allows.
