AP Overview

Advancement Placement courses require a high level of dedication, intellectual curiosity and interest on behalf of students.

Advanced Placement courses are challenging.

*Expectations are high.

*AP courses are taught at a college level of rigor.

*AP courses are time consuming.

*Work is assigned over the summer and during April break.

*Students must balance the demands of the course with their other commitments including personal lives, courses & extracurricular activities

*Grades are often lower than desired!

AP students must commit to:

*the summer work

*taking the AP exam in May

*paying for the exam by January

*remaining in the course: dropping an AP course after July 31 results in a loss of an elective for the year!
