Greetings Blazers,
As we reach the final stretch of the 2023-2024 school year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude when reflecting on each student's achievements. This June newsletter marks not only the end of another school year but also the culmination of countless hours of hard work and effort but forth by all students, staff members and parents/caregivers.
I commend our students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and smiles that light up the hallways of Elm Drive each day. Whether it be excelling in academics or demonstrating our monthly character trait focus, our students truly shine!
I extend my deepest appreciation to our dedicated teachers and staff. Their commitment to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment has been instrumental to the success of our students. They have made our school a place where children love to learn and grow.
Parents/Caregivers, thank you for being our partners in education. Your involvement and support, whether through volunteering, attending parent-teacher conferences, or helping with homework, has a significant impact on your child's educational experience. We are grateful for your trust and collaboration.
I wish you all a safe, relaxing, and FUN summer. I look forward to welcoming our students back in the fall for another fantastic year of learning. Be on the lookout for my "Principal Pick" read-aloud recordings which will be coming out each Friday over the summer beginning July 5th!
As always, Go Blazers!

During art class, Ms. Schmid had Elm's 2nd grade students draw their own monsters. Middle School teacher, Ms. Barnes, then had her Enriched Art class students bring these drawings to life! The middle school students made clay sculptures of these monsters! What an incredible cross grade level collaboration!
Here in Elm Drive, when students here me say, "Readers are....." each one of them will shout, "Leaders!"
This summer, I will be sending out recordings of myself reading aloud some of my many favorite books. A tab within this Elm Drive site will be dedicated to posting a new read aloud each Friday. They will remain up for the kids to enjoy. My first "Principal Pick" will be posted on Friday, July 5th. Additionally, I will send an email containing the read-aloud links.
Elm Drive 1st Grade students enjoyed watching chicks hatch! They learned all about the different stages of the chick life cycle, eagerly waiting for hatch day to arrive!
Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over- it became a butterfly!
Second graders in Mrs. Agne and Ms. Brown's class enjoyed watching the watching and learning about the transformation of the caterpillars into butterflies. When the day came, they ventured out to set them free!
Friend, Oh Friend
