Access Sora

Sora can be accessed via website or through an app on your phone or other device. Click here to access the website, or install the app called Sora on iPhone or Google Play store.

Sign in with your Millbrook Google account.

Add Mid-Hudson Public Library Content

As a Millbrook student you also get access to all of the ebooks accessible through our local public library network. They have a lot more ebooks and audiobooks than we do, so it's worth adding their content into your Sora account.

In the top left of the Sora window, under Millbrook School, click the down arrow and then + Add Library (shown in the screenshot below).

Type in Mid-Hudson Library System and click it when it appears in the list.

That's it! When you search for book titles it will search across both Millbrook School's collection and Mid-Hudson Library System's collection. You can borrow from either or both.

Check out books

To check out a book, just click on the title and click Borrow. The button will now show as 'Borrowed' and the book will immediately open for you to read in your browser or app.

You can get back to any books you currently have on loan by clicking Shelf at the bottom of the screen. It will give you the option to download the book to read offline, and will tell you when it is due to be 'returned'. At the due date it will just disappear from your shelf - though there is an option to renew it if you need more time.

Make Recommendations

It is very easy to add new books to Sora! If there is a book that you really want to read that doesn't currently exist in either the Millbrook School or Mid-Hudson collections, we can probably add it for you. Email library@millbrook.org with the book's title and author. Once a book is added, it usually appears in the Millbrook School collection within 24 hours. Check back in Sora and you should be able to borrow it at that time.
