Drama club is responsible for all aspects of our student productions. We typically perform 3 to 4 shows a year in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at- http://milfordschools.seatyourself.biz

Shows for the 2019-2020 school year are:

    • The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
    • Suessification of Romeo and Juliet (Readers' Theatre)
    • The Addams Family
    • High School Musical Jr.

The drama club also participates in various leadership activities throughout the year.

International Thespian Society is an honor society for high school theatre students. It is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. Every year our troupe participates at the State Conference in March as well as many other Thespian sponsored activities during the year.

Notable

Our advanced contemporary a cappella choir where students in grades 10-12 experience the thrill of singing Pentatonix-style music in lots of venues. This group travels quite a bit, and rehearse twice a week.

Daddy-O & The Cats

Daddy-O is a barbershop group, traditionally made up of all guys. However, if a girl wanted to join, she would be welcome. The creation of this group was student-initiated last year, but it really has caught on. They perform in the A Cappella Concert.

Choir Council

Choir Council is our Choir student leadership team. They meet once a month, and work with the Choral Boosters and me in running all the choir activities. They plan and run Choir Late Night in February. They are expected to be peer leaders during Choir rehearsals and performances. Inside the group, we nominate and elect officers who serve in extra leadership roles.

Marching Band

The Milford Marching Band is the largest student group at MHS and is a symbol of pride and school spirit in the community. The marching band begins rehearsing during the summer months and concludes the season at the Bands of America Grand National Championship in Indianapolis every November. During the fall, the band participates in numerous competitions and performs at all Milford home football games. http://milfordbands.org/

Winter Guard

Winter Guard is a performance-oriented activity that is open to all students that were part of marching band/Color Guard. The Winter Guard competes at local and national levels. Prior dance and Color Guard experience is helpful. Members receive extensive training in dance and equipment use. Auditions are held in late November and rehearsals begin in December. The season runs through mid-April. Practices are generally held evenings and weekends. This is an extra-curricular activity and no academic credit is given. http://milfordbands.org/

Percussion

Percussion ensembles consist of the marching percussion (also called battery) and front ensemble (also called pit) sections of a marching band or drum corps. Indoor percussion marries elements of music performance, marching, and theater. http://milfordbands.org/

Jazz Ensemble

The Milford Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group that rehearses and performs during the Spring Semester. Performing music that encompasses a variety of jazz styles, the members of the Milford Jazz Ensemble create entertaining concerts while also learning the rich history of America's original art form. http://milfordbands.org/

United Sound

United Sound is a music mentorship club where students with and without disabilities have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument. Working with members of the Milford Band Program, all of the students form close bonds and friendships and learn to see the world through one another's unique experiences. http://milfordbands.org/
