Grade 4 OHS SPRING CONCERT - Tuesday, May 12, 2020, 7:00 pm
On Tuesday, May 12, 2020, the OHS 4th Grade Chorus,4th and 5th Grade Band, and 4th and 5th Grade String Ensemble will present the Spring Concert. There are two performances - one in the morning, at 10:00 am for the students and the other in the evening at 7:00 pm for the parents. Both performances will be in the school auditorium.
Concert dress is as follows:
- Girls: white blouse; black pants or skirt; shoes or clean sneakers
- Boys: white shirt; black pants; shoes or clean sneakers; tie (optional, but encouraged)
For Tuesday, May 12th (daytime performance for the school and evening performance for the parents )students should be dressed in their concert attire.
4th Grade Chorus: students should be in their assigned seats in the auditorium at 6:50 pm
4th - 5th Grade Band: students will be informed by Mr. Marino as to when and where he'll meet with band students
4th - 5th Grade String Ensemble: students will be informed by Ms. Kozinski as to where and when she will meet with string students

OCTOBER ASSEMBLY
On October 31st, after the Halloween parade, the third and fourth graders presented a short assembly for the students.
The fourth graders prepared two songs, Old Abram Brown (a 3-part canon written by Benjamin Britten) and a traditional folk song, Skin and Bones,which they accompanied with Orff instruments - xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels .
The third graders shared information on a holiday celebrated in Mexico on November 1st, El dia de los muertos, The Day of the Dead. They performed a traditional Mexican dance, Los machetes,from the Jalisco region of Mexico. It used machetes (knives for cutting sugar cane) and was created by sugar cane workers and danced at harvest time. Actual machetes were used in the dance. We used rhythm sticks!! Finally, we watched two short videos about the dance.
