COURSE PURPOSE & OVERVIEW:
The purpose of this course is to teach students what they need to know and prepare them to be successful in business as professional midwives.
SPECIFIC LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this course, the students will be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas:
• Know how to start a home-birth midwifery practice.
• Have all paperwork and forms necessary to start a home-birth midwifery practice.
• Know how to network with professionals in her area, medical and otherwise.
• Know how to manage her practice and remain within legal and ethical boundaries.
• Know how to market her practice and be successful in business.
• Have a working knowledge of the insurance billing cycle.
