Home Access Center Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m not receiving emails from Home Access Center when I select Forgot My Username or Password.

A: Please be sure you are checking the correct email account. You most likely will need to contact your student’s building to verify the email address.

Q: How do I register for HAC?

A: Please see the Home Access Center User Guide for detailed instructions. Parent/Guardians must provide the district with a valid email address before attempting to register for HAC. Parents/Guardians should have their own unique HAC account and should not use their student’s account. The email address should be given to the building in which your student is registered.

Q: I am a student, can I get a HAC Account?

A: Students currently enrolled have a student HAC account setup for them automatically. Students cannot register and cannot manage account information through HAC. Students login to HAC using their Midland Public Schools username and password, the same username and password used to access other network resources such as MPS email and logging into MPS computers.

Parents must register for HAC using the instructions under the How do I register for HAC above.

Q: I have multiple students in the district but some are missing from my list.

A: Each student must be associated with a guardian record in our student information system. Please contact your student’s school building main office for assistance.

Q: I have forgotten my password and the Forgot My Username or Password is not working.

A: The Forgot My Username or Password link sends an email to the email address associated with your Home Access Account. Therefore, ensure you are checking the correct email account. This feature will not work if you have changed your email address. If you are unable to check your email, please contact your student’s school building main office for assistance.

Q: How do I change the e-mail address or other contact information?

A: Contact your student’s school building and they will assist you in updating your contact information.

Q: I am having difficulty using Home Access Center on my computer or mobile device.

A: Please try restarting and/or try another computer. Please be aware that Midland Public Schools does not provide support for personal computers, and does not guarantee assistance. However, if you feel the problem you are having originates with the Home Access Center web site, please contact your student’s building and they will forward your issue to the Information Systems department. If you are receiving a specific error message, please have the error message when you call.

Q: I have a question regarding my student’s grades. Who should I contact?

A: Select the teacher in Home Access Center to email your student’s teacher. Or if you prefer, you can contact the teacher via phone using the school building’s staff directory.

Q: I have a question regarding my student’s attendance or discipline. Who should I contact?

A: Please contact your student’s school building.

Q: I do not see my student’s report card.

A: At the end of each marking period, there will be a period of time when the Report Card feature will disappear from the Home Access Center menu while grades are being finalized. Once report cards are processed, the report card option will reappear and you will be able to view your student’s report card.

Your student may have a report card hold, because of a fine or other circumstance, which will prevent the report card from being displayed. Please contact your student’s school building for assistance.

Q: When will report cards be available?

A: Each year the Marking Period Calendar (http://www.midlandps.org/calendar) is updated on the Midland Public Schools website. Report cards are typically made available within two weeks after the end of the marking period.
