給家長的話 Notes to Parents

• The school is hosting their second general meeting this Saturday, the 10th, at 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Attendance is optional, but they will be holding elections and announcing school updates for next year (see the 5/3 MHCS Newsletter sent by the Principal for more information)

• Bring colored pencils/markers/crayons!!!

•  Reviewed all previously learned materials

• Watched a short clip for Mother's Day

• Showed off our Open House poster boards :)

• Learned the names of various utensils (spoon, fork, chopsticks, knife, and straw)

• Practiced basic conversations ("How are you?")

本週作業  Homework

• Record spoon, fork, chopsticks, knife, and straw in Chinese. Recordings can be sent to me or inserted directly into this week's homework folder.

• If you have not already done so, make a mother's day card or a father's day card. Please use colored pencils, markers, crayons, or pens to add some color!

• Ask your mother if you can help with chores :)

• MHCS is hosting an open house this coming Saturday, the 17th. Please feel free to invite other parents to come look around!

• Learned two new tongue-twisters!!!

本週作業  Homework

• If you have not yet already, make and turn in a mother's day card or a father's day card.

• Record the two tongue-twisters that we learned in class today: 四十四隻石獅子 (sì shí sì zhī shí shī zi) and 媽媽騎馬 (mā ma qí mă). Recordings may be sent to me or added to this week's homework folder. Additional resources (the pinyin and translations of the tongue twisters) can also be found in this folder.
