About Me
Greetings and welcome to Mr. Gaestel's (Mr. G) 6th grade class!
My name is Eric Gaestel. I am so proud to announce that I am one of the new additions to the EMIS 6th grade faculty! I am a first year teacher having just completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching for Middle Grades at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I am so very excited to be your new ELA/Social Studies teacher!
I am originally from the state of New Jersey, but have been visiting Mooresville since my parents moved here in 2007. While living in New Jersey, I began my journey towards becoming an educator at Passaic County Community College, earning my Associate's degree in humanities. I then transferred to William Paterson University and completed my B.A. in Anthropology in 2013. In the Spring of 2016, my fiancé Juli and I moved to Carolina Beach, North Carolina to begin my graduate degree in Middle Level Teaching.
I promise each and every one of you that I am dedicated to your education and success. We will work very hard, but also have such a wonderful time getting to know each other throughout this year! I want all of you know from day one that I am here for each of you. I will offer you the kindness, respect, and understanding that you deserve. We are all going to have such a fantastic year!!
Thank you all for welcoming me into your school and your community!
Sincerely,
Mr. Gaestel (Mr. G)
