MELS 8th Grade

Hi, everyone!

Welcome to the 8th grade info page, designed for students and parents. We'll be posting updates here every two weeks, and hope this makes it easier to support your child when they're at home.

Important Upcoming Dates:

October 13 - NO SCHOOL; Indigenous People's Day
October 20 - NO SCHOOL; Diwali
November 20 & 21 - Fall SLCs
March 18 & 19 - Spring SLCs
June 3 - Passages Panel Presentations
June 23 - Passages Night

Announcements:

Students must bring their pens / pencils & binders to class every day - please make sure your student has all the supplies they need!
Every student must have a planner and write down their homework prior to leaving class.
Be sure to sign the cell phone policy document that was sent home. It should be returned ASAP.

Students are currently engaging in experiences within the space of crew to foster best practices related to working as a team.

Case Study: Bob Dylan

We kicked off our first Case Study today - Bob Dylan: a Case Study in Protest Songs. Students will be analyzing protest songs - this week, we're looking at "The Times They Are A Changin'"!
