Do you want to share a Google Doc, Slides, etc. with your kids, but make sure they each have their own copy so they are not editing yours? Here is an easy way to force each student to make a copy of their own.
Embedded Files
Locate the document in your Google Drive.
Right click and hit Share.
Hit Copy Link.
Paste the link into whatever source the students will see (Canvas, email, etc.).
At the very end of the link is a word that says edit. Change that word to copy.
Voila! When the students click the link, they will be forced to make their own copy of the document.
