We are starting a new unit today on comparison and data. On page 173 in the Student Activity Math Book, cut out the cards and sort them into two piles, bugs that have legs and bugs that do not. On page 175 make circles in groups of 5 to show the bugs that have legs and the bugs that don’t have legs. Write the number answer in the blue boxes. Answer questions 2-4. On page 176 sort the bugs into groups by color (brown, red and black). Draw circles in groups of 5 to show how many are in each group. Answer questions 6-8.
Review the /w/ sound with your child. Introduce the wh spelling. Wh also says /w/. Like in; when, what, whale, white. Make a list of any other words that use the wh spelling to say /w/.
