Jack and the Beanstalk Part 2
Today’s math work is primarily dealing with multiples of 10. Check out the video below to count by 10 to 100 with some exercise!
On page 163 in the Student Activity Math Book, solve the equations 1-14 by drawing ten sticks. Ex: 80+20=___ Draw 8 tens sticks to show 80 and then draw 2 more ten sticks to show 20. Count how many ten sticks you drew altogether to get your total. (10, 20, 30….80, 90)
For numbers 15-18 solve the top equations by drawing ten sticks. Solve the bottom equations by counting on using ten sticks. Ex: 15. 10+__=60 put 10 in your head and draw 1 ten stick to show 20, draw 2 ten sticks to show 30, draw 3 ten sticks to show 40, draw 4 ten sticks to show 50, and draw 5 ten sticks to show 60. Because you drew 5 ten sticks now you know that 50 goes with 10 to make 60.
Read The Storm and answer the comprehension questions orally
