We are moving on to solving problems with 3 addends (3 numbers to add together)

On page 153 in the Student Activity Math Book use the cubes to help solve the problem.

• First read the problem and underline the numbers in the problem. Second color the cubes in to show your ongoing total. Ex: 1. Color 6 cubes to show 6 red pencils, color 5 more cubes to show 5 yellow pencils, and color 7 more cubes to show 7 more pencils. Cross out the last two cubes to show you didn’t use them. How many cubes you colored in is your answer!

Review the /s/ sound and the different spellings like s, ss. As in Sit, Sun, Dress, Kiss. There is one more spelling for the /s/ sound which is c. We sometimes call this a soft c. like in the word cinch. C can make two sounds /k/ and /s/.
