We are moving on to solving problems with 3 addends (3 numbers to add together)
On page 153 in the Student Activity Math Book use the cubes to help solve the problem.
First read the problem and underline the numbers in the problem. Second color the cubes in to show your ongoing total. Ex: 1. Color 6 cubes to show 6 red pencils, color 5 more cubes to show 5 yellow pencils, and color 7 more cubes to show 7 more pencils. Cross out the last two cubes to show you didn’t use them. How many cubes you colored in is your answer!
Review the /s/ sound and the different spellings like s, ss. As in Sit, Sun, Dress, Kiss. There is one more spelling for the /s/ sound which is c. We sometimes call this a soft c. like in the word cinch. C can make two sounds /k/ and /s/.
