Find about 80 little objects around the house to count (ex: coins, crayons, beans, pebbles, rice, etc.)
Layout a handful of the objects on a table.
Ask your child to make groups of ten with the objects.
Count the groups by ten and then count on with the remaining objects that didn’t fit in a group of ten. (ex: 5 groups of ten beans and 4 leftover beans. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54)
Do this several different times
On page 155 in the Student Activity Book circle groups of ten dots. Count by tens then count on by ones.
Do the same on the next page (page 156) with the stars.
Review pronouns with your child. Pronouns are words like he she, it, they. They take the place of a person’s name or a place. Example; Mrs. MacEachern would become she. Work through page 31&32 together.
